Cocchi Americano Vermouth

Cocchi Americano is a classic Italian aperitivo wine from Asti, renowned for its complex, bittersweet profile and historical importance. Unlike traditional vermouth, this spirit is technically a quinine-based aromatized wine (Vino Americano), crafted since 1891 using Moscato di Asti as its base, infused with herbs and spices like gentian root, cinchona bark (quinine), and citrus peel. It offers a bright, herbaceous, and honeyed taste with a dry, balancing bitterness. This distinctive flavor makes it an indispensable component in classic cocktails, most famously replacing Kina Lillet in the original James Bond Vesper Martini. It also shines simply served chilled over ice with a splash of soda and an orange slice.
