Ardbeg Corryvreckan takes its name from the powerful whirlpool north of Islay, reflecting the wild intensity of this non-chill filtered, ex-Bourbon cask, and French oak matured single malt. This dram is truly not for the faint-hearted. It features swirling aromas and torrents of deep, peaty flavor, complemented by a distinctive peppery character. On the palate, beneath the surface of smoke and spice, lurk notes of dark fruits and black tarry coffee. The finish is long, deep, and powerfully warming, with hints of chocolate-coated cherries and a hot pepper sauce lingering on the tongue.
